Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

The platform board came damaged, torn and the edge frayed. It was under the protective plastic so it must have been packaged that way. A definite problem with the manufacturer. The price went down at sportmart the day I received it so they could have refunded the difference but no another annoyance. This is a heavy-duty product not meant for women.

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

The Weider Total Body Works 5000 works great. It is the perfect alternative to staying in shape when you cant get to the gym. With enough dedication and consistency you don't need to renew your gym membership. There are numerous workouts that can be performed to give you a excellent work out every time. Use the machine along with a healthy diet plan, and nice early morning jog (daily) and your set. Even though the product only comes with a handful of exercises on the chart there are much more work outs that can be performed. Think about the workouts you perform at the gym and incorporate the same motion while using the system. I.E. You can perform a pull-up on the machine to work target certain muscle groups. (as shown on the chart) Now perform that same pull-up while laying on back. Start off the exercise with your back on the pad. Reach up and grab the stationary pull-up bar(wide grip) and slow lift and lower yourself. This is a great workout that will put emphasis on your trap and lats and shoulders. Want to build stronger shoulders. Place the pull-up bar on the other end where the foot plate should be. Start the exercise while laying on the stomach(facing the bottom of the machine). Get a comfortable wipe or close grip and slowly push yourself up. With a little imagination you can create great workouts not shown on the chart. This product is worth every penny. My only concern with the machine is the squeaky pulleys. It can get rather annoying. However a lite spray of WD-40 fixed the problem. Get this machine! It's a great investment.

I am a 53 year old female with Diabetes and have taken injections in my stomach, thighs and hips for 47 years and these sites have become fatty and saggy. After using the BodyWorks for a little over a week, these sites has firmed and toned and I am looking forward to toning and firming more. I'm a petite small boned person, and at first it was a little difficult to use(no strength in my arms), but the more I used it, the easier it was. It was simple to set up,(pretty much all ready to go), but it does take two people to expand it. Thank you BodyWorks for a great piece of exercise equipment that I could affort and works.

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

I used to never work out because I would get bored. I've tried treadmills, pilates, yoga, kick boxing, even joining a very small gym.
Gym was expensive, kick boxing was too much of a work out for me, and everything else was boring. I bought this equipment over a month ago and I'm STILL working out!! (I've also dropped from a size 6 to a 4!! EVERYONE sees a difference!!) I have arm muscles I've never had and I continue to tone, tone, tone. I'm a petite person, but I've been able to lift things I've never lifted before. I've recommended Sports Authority and this product to everyone trying to loose weight or tone up!! Thank you..Thank You.. Thank you!!!

Ex College Football Player now in my 40's with 4 kids. No time for the gym, but still athletic... WOW - what a great work out. Myself 6'4" and 265 pounds, I was skeptical this would work, but this machine is a perfect home gym using my own weight as resistance. Sturdy, more exercises than I did at the gym anyway, and increased my range of motion working muscles I forgot I had. I would recommend this machine, for the money, it's worth every penny!

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

Back surgery on Christmas 06' has prevented me from going back into the free wieght room at my gym. My surgeon suggested using cable machines instead of free weights. After some discuraging time spent on the cable machines at my gym I just stopped going. This Christmas 1 year later I decided to buy this machine. At first I thought this machine would at least help me keep the wieght off but no way will it give me feelings I got from a good weight work out. I was wrong!!! I mistakenly pushed my self hard the first couple workouts, let me tell you I was sore. It worked all the muscle groups and gives you a good streight workout. I would strongly recomend this for a home gym. Best part is their is no extra strain on my already injured back.

I love this product. It was purchased for my Boyfriend, but I use it all the time as well. My dad came to visit and used it for 3 weeks and immediately ordered one for himself. It is so fabulous. Before purchasing, I surfed the web for the best price and Sports Authority had the best price. Then I read all of the web ratings and watched the online video. I was sold!!! I just love having at home. It is so much more convenient than travelling the Gym. You can also strengthen your legs with the bands and increasing height - I SIMPLY LOVE IT!!!

I first started using this equipment once a week; which lead to three times a week now. The equipment is sturdy enough to handle a guy weighting over 260lbs. and standing over 6ft. tall. I felt it was the best investment I could make towards my health and well being. The resistance bands add more to each workout, along with the incline adjustments making each level more strength related. Overall the equipment might just outlast the buyer.

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

Great strength training, a lot harder then it looks, and there is a wide variety of resistance. It can be used to lose weight with fast reps. It is a bit crooked, but it is not a big problem, has not problem supporting my 180 lb. Overall it is a great deal, priced at [$], it is so much cheaper then others, and not a large difference.

I was convinced that the Total Gym was going to be mine by the end of the week, and then I did some research and found this at half the price. Well worth it. This is for those of us who do not plan on entering body building competitions but still want to build some lean muscles. My only con is sometimes setting it up is a workout in itself.

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

I really like this machine. It was much better than I expected. There wasnt much assembly. It is a great alternative for people who want to stay in shape, but not pay $35 a month on a gym membership.
At school I work out 5-6 days a week, and in the summer I had a gym membership. After one summer I realized instead of going to an overcrowded gym I could buy my own Weider total gym for less money than a summers worth of my gym membership.
This machine is good for staying toned and in shape, I doubt it will help build more muscle than freeweights do, but how many people need to be Mr Universe? It is also pretty fun and quick to use

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

I've had all the gyms.(All at least $1000 or more) I ended up returning them all. I know a great product when i use it.This machine is by far the best piece of exercise equipment i've ever used. I will honestly say that this machine is better for you than free weights because of inertia and the fact that free weights work muscles in isolation. This machine challenges every major muscle group no matter what exercise you do.This is the only machine i've used that had my abs sore the next day after leg day! I didn't even work abs that particular day! You feel consistent, controlled weight throughout every single rep. If your goal is to tone up, and change your physique in as little time as possible, this is your machine. You won't beat the price, durability, muscular challenge, muscular toning, and the heart strengthening cardiovascular benefits this machine has to offer. The only thing they need to add is an ankle harness accessory for working inner and outer thighs a little better. These are a women's problem areas, especially after having children.

I have had my fair share of Gym Memberships. Dont get me wrong weights are good, but with this product, you are forced to push yourself. Being a Police Officer, the schedule makes it tough to get to a gym. Having this at home though, makes working out even better. After my workouts, I feel like my Police Academy Physical Training Instructors just got done beating us up again. It is an intense workout and uses ALL the muscles in your body at once, not just single muscle isolation at the gym. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments about Weider Weider Total Body Works 5000:

I was somewhat skeptical of this gym but now after using it I am really glad I bought it. There are so many exercises you can do with it, with just minor changes in your movement you are able to work different muscle groups. For the price and for the fact I saved hundreds of dollars ( literally ) by buying this gym ( compared to the competitors gym ) and this one allows me to add resistance in addition to using my body weight ( which the competitors does not ). I feel this is just about the best value for the price. If you want an all around piece of equipment to get in shape with look no further, you have found it. It is well constructed, stable, and quite fun to use. I wish I had one while I was on active duty,it would have been a GREAT addition to my exercise regiment, this gym is awesome. The only "complaint" I have about it is the cable was actually looped in a loose knot when I took it out of the box. I had to remove the pulley and "untie it " before I could use it. Set up took about five minutes and was quite easy for me. This gym IMHO is the BEST investment I have EVER made to get back in shape. [...] I am still wondering why this gym is not available at my local stores??? I would rather have gone to the store to get it, and who knows I might have bought some other items while their, but that is their loss.
